The objective of this work package is to develop suitable engine oil for vegetable oil fuelled engines and provide sufficient quantities for the demonstration fleet in WP5. The engine oil will be successively developed and tested in the tractors of different emission stages at John Deere before being made available for the demonstration fleet.

The target oil drain interval for tractors running on vegetable fuelled engines is 500 hours, which will be demonstrated in WP5. Intermediate targets will be the demonstration of oil suitability at the stages of the engine test development process.

Oil suitability will be measured via analysis of the chemical and physical properties of the oil drain samples. Oil suitability will be demonstrated via the discussion of the oil drain analyses with the other WP members (specifically John Deere).
