Main tasks in this project

Lubrizol will provide lubricants appropriate for use in advanced engines in farm tractors running with 2nd Generation Vegetable Oil Fuels. This will also involve comprehensive analysis of oil samples taken from field trial tractors to ensure that the lubricant(s) is (are) functioning adequately and ensure 500 hour oil drain intervals. The results of the oil analysis and the interpretation of these results will be reported regularly.
Lubrizol will also provide two lubricant condition monitoring sensors and related data logging equipment to monitor real time the performance of the engine oil in the bench test engines and later in two tractors selected from the field trial fleet. This will test the suitability of the sensor for predicting oil drain intervals in this application and, assuming this is successful, will provide valuable continuous information on the ageing process of the lubricant.
